But she makes it quite clear that there will be no funny business. Spending a week on a cruise ship full of humans while sleeping close to his sexy next-door neighbor sounds like a helluva bad idea to vampire Noah Thorpe. But his friends need time to get him out of a shotgun wedding—a vampire bonding that will tie his fate to a female vampire he's never met. And Alice's offer comes at just the right time. What could possibly go wrong?

Light and humorous romance
By Vilia
Alice Shepard is in a pickle. Her sister has planned a week long cruise to coincide with her wedding and Alice needs a date. Not any date you understand, but the kind of man that will make her cheating, lying ex-fiancé jealous. Her next door neighbour Noah seems to fit the bill and he reluctantly agrees to her proposition as he needs to escape impending doom in the form of an arranged marriage.

Alice is quite a fun character who, like many women in romance novels, doesn't realise her own worth. Brent messed with her heart by leaving her for her best friend Kristen but she still is incessantly perky and upbeat. She's far too forgiving of those who wronged her which made her a little hard to connect with. She is however loyal to those she cares about and even willing to endure a little humiliation to ensure her sister's wedding week is all she could dream of.

Noah's backstory isn't clearly explored but we do find out a little about his brothers and father. Given this is a light paranormal romance, I thought it was interesting that Allee touched on vampire ennui and the Council's way of dealing with it. Noah's family is worried about how disconnected he has become over time and his father has proposed a drastic solution. Noah isn't keen and is willing to accept a cruise where there is lots of sun just to get out of it. His shampoo drinking habits were amusing, as was his little rivalry with Brent. Noah tries to fight his attraction to Alice and not bite the bridesmaid but you know that sooner or later his resolve will falter.

There are all manner of minor obstacles ranging from having to share a cabin to her mother inappropriately propositioning Noah. The humour and the love scenes keep this tale bubbling along nicely. It isn't an overly complicated novel, perhaps more because of its short length than anything else but it is a light-hearted, humorous read.

Fantastic read!
By The Romance Reviews
As maid of honor, she needs to find a date for her sister's wedding so that she won't look like a loser in front of the former fiancé who's also a member of the wedding party. Encouraged to run from a newly determined fate he doesn't want, a reluctant vampire needs to get out of town to avoid an arranged marriage to an anonymous bloodsucking bride. The lady and the vamp have very little in common, except a strange pull of attraction they can't seem to fight and a sudden desire to just stop fighting it.

Alice Shepherd needs a date for the weeklong cruise to Mexico that will culminate in her sister's wedding. Finding her fiancé in bed with her best friend was a total shock that Alice hasn't quite recovered from, but she can't avoid Brett because he's the groom's brother. A few sexy dresses, the confidence to wear a bikini, and a hot date will show Brett just what he gave up, even if she has no plans to take the cheating moneygrubber back. Hot neighbor Noah Thorpe is just what Alice needs to rub Brett's nose in it, but Noah's not so easily persuaded by her invitation to be her date for the festivities. For him, it's complicated.

Finding out that the Vampire Council has plans to match him up with an unwanted bride, Noah's vampire brother Charles convinces him to accept Alice's invitation and get out of town so the council can't locate him. Perhaps, during that week in hiding, Noah's vampire brothers can convince the council to give Noah another 50 years without the complications of an unwanted wife, or at least provide a short postponement of the inevitable. All Noah has to do is hide his vampirism from a pretty human female for a week and make sure he takes a well-camouflaged supply of blood to last for the length of the cruise. Certainly he could make himself available to accompany Alice to all the planned festivities, but he was unprepared to find they'd be sharing sleeping accommodations aboard ship...

DON'T BITE THE BRIDESMAID is a delightfully quirky read that is just downright charming. The dialogue is witty and the plot is filled with situations that any romance reader can relate to. While the paranormal element does create drama, it never once dominates the storyline or steals from the fact that this is a romance between two characters from different backgrounds.

Noah's character is that of a vampire who knows it's imperative he guard his privacy, but he's never lost his humanity and he secretly longs for acceptance, love, and companionship. Alice is an adorable mix of brazen innocence and shy bravado, and she naturally exudes a sunny outlook that is a draw to a man such as Noah, who does most of his living in his own private darkness. When these two drop their guards, but hide their feelings, love quickly shoulders its way in, but is a future between them really possible?

Even if you dislike paranormal romance, you should give DON'T BITE THE BRIDESMAID a read. It's a fun tale reminiscent of chick-lit romance, and Tiffany Allee does a fantastic job with switching point of views between Alice and Noah. Yes, there are sexual scenes, but they aren't gritty or gratuitous, but they may make you want to check yourself in the mirror if you are ever guilty of making love before sitting down to a meal with your lovingly curious family!

3 stars - Sexy Noah was the best part
By Valerie StuckInBooks
I'm struggling to write this review. I liked this book...but... I liked the world where vampires are living among us. Simple and brief, the world buidling wasn't really the story. Noah is being pressured to bond and he doesn't want to. That's really the only part of the world that effects the story. I kinda liked that fact that this paranormal romance took the front seat of the story.

The premise is priceless. I love when two people who are attracted to each other are forced into a situation where things are going to get out of control. The pretending to be a couple thing is just so perfect. I always love those types of books. Stuck on a cruise ship pretending to be together has so many yummy possibilities. AND those things definitely happen in this book.

Noah is all kinds of yummy. He's an older vampire that really needs to consider bonding to hold onto life but he doesn't think he needs to yet. He certainly doesn't want to be forced into it by the counsel and to a vampire he's never met - no thanks. So he avoids it by taking the opportunity to help out his neighbor. What I really loved about Noah was his reactions to Brent, Alice's ex. The way he meets him is perfect. Noah has the size of Brent in about two seconds and while he may not have been on board with this plan before, he is now. His desire to protect Alice from Brent's ideas is adorable. Noah is also a good sport to go along with all the wedding stuff. I loved him lots.

Alice is fine. She doesn't really do anything for me one way or the other. That may be part of my problem. I didn't get connected to her very well. And that really is where my problem is with this book. Alice and Noah have known each other for about 5 years as neighbors. Apparently, she has convinced him to be part of the neighborhood events when he never was before she moved there. The story starts right before the cruise and while there are some vague mentions of their previous interactions, it feels like they are starting new. But since they are really aren't, things are uncomfortable for me. As a reader, I didn't get some of it until well into the book. But by then, it felt like an after thought. I guess, I needed more of their relationship explained to me before they headed off to the cruise ship and a world wind love affair. Because in the a weeks time, these two waving neighbors have changed their relationship f o r e v e r.

I had one other issue. It was the whole "reveal" thing. Finding out that he's a vampire and how that came down. It just fell flat for me. I won't ruin it for anyone by explaining why but it was like...huh? I've read a lot of paranormal and never really experienced it like this before. Guess that can be good but it didn't work for me.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. I wish there had been about 50 pages at the beginning that gave a better picture of these two before the cruise and I think it would have been better. I can see where this series is headed and it could be fun to revisit this world.

If you like paranormal romance with a lot of sexy then this one may be a good choice for you. - See more at: [...]
