I have to agree that the author makes very good points about the differences between the body

For the most part I don't have a problem with this book. It uses much scripture to prove its points. It is enlightening, refreshing, to the point and most of all very revealing.
Since this is just book one, I have to agree that the author makes very good points about the differences between the body, the soul and the spirit, which in my opinion is helping me to understand what part of me is really in charge.
The big problem that I have is the author's understanding of the heart of the Father. Like most Christians, the Father is always coming up as the "bad guy", when it comes to Calvary's cross. The followiing is what the author says, and I quote,
"However, while He was on the cross—if ever there was a day He needed God’s presence, it had to be that day (probably no other day exceeded that day)—He cried, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27: 46). His spirit was actually separated from God. Now He felt alone, rejected, and separated. Still He was obedient, doing God’s will; but now He was forsaken—not for Himself but for the sins of others. The greatest effect of sin is on the spirit. Therefore, even such a holy One, the Son of God, because of bearing others’ sins, actually
became separated from God. It was a fact that in the unfathomable eternity “I and the Father are one” (John 10: 30), and this remained true when He was on earth. Humanity could not separate Him from God. However, sin could, although it was the sin of others. He suffered the spirit’s separation for us in order that our spirit could be reconciled to God." End of quote.
In this case, the author fails to understand that although Jesus FELT alone or forsaken, He was not separated from the Father. Sin is not that big to separate the love of the Father for the Son.
God is never threatened by sin, nor does He move away when sin is in the picture. An omnipresent God cannot do that.
To FEEL forsaken brings then the illusion of separation where Jesus FELT alone for a moment because the weight of sin upon His shoulders deprived Him of sensing God's presence.
Besides that, it is important to understand that God cannot separate Himself from God, not even for a second. It is impossible. God in His essential being is three Persons. If One Person of the Godhead would move away from the other, God would cease to be God.
This is a mistake that the church is forever making because they do not understand the holy nature of our Triune God. God is One and cannot be separated from Himself no matter what. The fact is that sin is nothing but an illusion, yet it brings concrete results. Sin is infinitely weaker than than the limitless love that the Father has for the Son. To believe otherwise is to deny the fact that the Light is never intimidated, nor contaminated by the darkness. It is impossible.
In our case, when we sin, it is us who separates from the presence of God, not the other way around. To believe that the Father removed Himself from the Son in His greatest need is to allude that His love for His eternal Son was limited because "sin" came between them.
Even in the natural, a father who rejects his own son for becoming "sinful" would be considered cruel and uncommitted to his own flesh. How much more our Heavenly Father who in conjunction with the Son and the Spirit planned the salvation of mankind because His love knew no barriers and made no excuses.
In this case, it seems that the devil won because he was able to separate the Triune God from Himself, even for a short time. We are forever making the devil bigger than he is. That too is deception.

After the Bible, this book only, has shown me the breakthrough in Christ Jesus I have always dreamed of but never knew how to enter into. If you want ALL that is in Christ this side of Heaven, you cannot give up on The Lord if you have not read this book. May the grace of Jesus Himself bless you to read this book. It is truly meat and not milk. I encourage you to read it slowly; it is deepest of the deep. : )
