Step-by-step instructions with pictures

This is a well written ebook with a functional table of contents. If you are the DIY type and want to build your own little chicken coop this is the book for you. The directions are well written and easy to understand and follow. I was really impressed with all the pictures. This is something my teenage son and I will be able to do together by following the detailed instructions in this book.

Does not have blueprint or plan

While it is detailed in the explanation it does not have an actual schematic or plan. The only way to build this is to read through line by line. If you are looking for a set of plans and do not want to read 70 pages of explanation then keep looking. I am sure if you wanted to take the time to read through or need detailed explanations on how to cut an angle then it would be useful, but if you simply want a set of plans because you already know how to use basic tools then this is simply frustrating and turns a simple project into a much longer than needed to build project.
Good for somebody with little or no experience building anything but that happens to have a good assortment of tools at their disposal.
Frustrating if you just want a set of plans and do not need somebody to explain how to attach a hinge - particularly since never has the full blue print to reference so MUST go line by line for building.

clever book but needs way more pictures

Kindle-only books are always such a mixed bag, regardless of price. I guess that's the benefit of editors in the regular publishing market.
This book, however, was very nicely done. It is obvious that the author has experience both with chickens and woodworking. He even included a thorough section on safety.
The coop design is top-notch without doubt. It follows a number of other "chicken ark" type designs incorporating the ideas of a chicken tractor that moves around your yard/garden/farm while providing secure housing for your small (3-4 bird) flock. This version is a nicely done model, well designed with very specifically detailed construction steps. The only thing it lacks are detailed photos. It has a variety of photos showing many stages through the process, but could use a few more to accompany the detailed construction advice. For instance the one of the dowel-hings is great, but there is nothing for the roof cap, or several of the instances where the author recommends using deadwood as filler.
Overall, if you want to know how to build a very nice, well-designed coop, I'd recommend this book, but expect that you'll need to work through a couple steps with very careful reading, and plan to build it using the authors measurements.
Having a good amount of experience with carpentry will also help.
