I have the books on igneous and sedimentary rocks in this series.
Both are well written and well illustrated.
This one well written but lacks the illustrations.
They are in B&W, not colour.

I liked the book a great deal. It would have been even better it it were more complete. It suffered by comparison with 'Sedimentary Rocks in the Field".

Don't waste your money. No stars, actually.

Way WAY overpriced! But it's not the brevity or high price that makes this item so disappointing--it's the low, low quality of the photographs. It's bad enough that the pictures are tiny and in black-and-white, but the reproduction quality is comparable to photocopies made on a Xerox machine from the 1960s off of B&W newspaper photos from the 1950s. Outrageously bad! They have got a lot of nerve publishing this. Next to worthless. This book must have historical interest to explain why it's still on the market. I gambled on this one and I lost over $40. Win some. Lose some.
